ENCOURAGING WORDS FOR CHILDREN

Studies show everytime you speak harshly to a child, you need to speak positively ten times to offset the negativity. Kids are like flowers, they need tending, watering and fertilizing to help them grow. Some days, kids are far more in need of our approval than our advice. You have to study to know your child and use alot of different words to encourage them.

“Let the children be happy. Nothing is more important than the sharing of this moment in time. Hold their kite strings, make their hearts sing, make their smiles shine. Reflect their inner and outer beauty. Encourage them to be in less of a hurry. Love them each fleeting second. Try to have the patience of a saint, and the understanding of one, too. Admire them. Inspire them. And tell them in untold ways what they mean to you.”

Before your baby is even born begin to talk to him telling him how much you love him and you can’t wait to see him and hold him. Studies show that babies inside the womb are receptive to outside influences such as voice tone and noise levels.

You can do it. It will pay big dividends for your childs future!

Research shows kids need lots of encouragement, affirmations and praise, just like adults and for the same reasons, only more so.

To be able to think rationally

To be creative and resourceful

To be successful in life

To learn courage to face their foes and weaknesses.

Encouragement Benefits for Kids

I read a good article by Titia Dunn in the Newark Examiner about the how to and benefits of keeping your children fit and healthy.

She said:
1) Provide a good balance of fruits and vegetables on a daily basis.
2) Provide at least 30 minutes of physical exercise or activity a day. Take walks or take them to a sports practice; just make them move!
3) Provide mental stimulation. Turn off the TV and make sure they get their homework done first. Give them support in the form of mental stimulation or even more academic help such as Sylvan or Kumon Learning Centers.
4) Provide encouragement on a daily basis for your child. This can be words of encouragement before they leave for school or inspirational notes along the way. Parents should also have a debrief at the end of your child's day or a heart to heart at dinnertime.

She said this will give them more energy to be productive, a positive outlook to handle the emotional ups and downs life brings, physical strenth and endurance, reduced risk for many health problems including diabetes, cancer and heart disease, the opportunity to look and feel their very best which will give them a better quality of life.

These are all amazing benefits and so worth the time it takes to do this for your child, but my favorite is #4. Sidney Madwed says, “If everyone received the encouragement they need to grow, the genius in most everyone would blossom and the world would produce abundance beyond our wildest dreams.”

Kids are far more in need of encouragement than correction. They could change the world if they received it.
