HOW TO ENCOURAGE?

Have you seen the comic strip Peanuts where Lucy grumpily picks on Linus and he turns to her and says, "Big sisters are the crabgrass in the lawn of life?"

After lots of rain this spring, the weeds and especially nasty crabgrasses are growing. They take work to pull out. As you think about and possibly relate this to relationships, who is crabgrass in your 'lawn of life?' How can you effectively communicate with them?

The fact is, it takes intentional work and we have a choice to make every day we live. Will we encourage or discourage others?

You've met encouragers. When you are in their company, you can actually feel your tank fill up. They remind you that God is good, there are reasons you are experiencing your troubles and they positively lift you up. After being with discouragers, you will feel down and depressed. Someone once said that discouragers are the "slow leak in the hot air balloon of life."

Do you want to learn how to encourage? You can do it. Go for it!
